Make A Wish Day 3 - Universal Studios

Make a Wish - Day Three
Universal Studios - Orlando, Florida
______________________________________________________

Day three! We are so excited because today, we are going to Universal Studios!  Kaylee, Lexi's sister, has been screaming mad to see Harry Potter since the plane landed and today is finally the day! She is super excited!

Universal Studios was two separate parks joined together by the City Walk. There was the Island of Adventures and Universal Studios. We went to the Island of Adventures.  On the way there, we walked through the City Walk, which was full of all kinds of stores, restaurants, bars, clubs...essentially an adult playground. There was even an Emeril's!

We decided to tackle the Island of Adventures first, which of course was where Harry Potter was. lol  The Island was in renaissance theme including the shops, food and music. I don't know why, but I love that era. There were turkey legs and flutes everywhere.  The first thing we did was get the girls charactures (sp) done.  Although it took a bit of time, then end result was really neat. The guy that drew the girls even framed the picture and held it for us until we were ready to go. Super nice of him!

The next stop was Dr. Seuss land! THIS was THE funnest thing EVER! The entire place was in proper form, full of silly creatures and beautiful colors. Lexi and Kaylee both lit up for this!  The sky was turning grey and the rain started to sprinkle, but that did not stop us from having a blast!  We rode silly animals on the carousel, rode the One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish ride, where we steered up and down to get wet... We made our way to a rollercoaster which was hysterical. There were two separate train carts for the coaster; one went through a restaurant and over Dr. Seuss land, and the other went over a water bay. Lexi wanted front row both times. This kid has no fear! She laughed the whole two trips!

Next stop, you guessed it! Harry Potter.  This was truly amazing. They have recreated the entire town of Hogsmeade. There was the Owl Post, the candy store, a restaurant called the Two Broomsticks...so much to do...but the rain had other plans.  I for one thought the rain added to the whole dreary Harry Potter experience. We dodged the pour down by eating at the Two Broomsticks. There we had chicken quarters, ribs and butter beer. Afterwards, we ran to Hogwarts and were taken away by the realistic attractions in the castle. The paintings talked. The hat was there talking. The animated newspaper was there. Everything! I felt like I was in the movie. The ride that was in the castle was AMAZING! Kaylee freaked out but Ryan and I LOVED it. After that was over, we wandered over to where the wands were. Keep in mind, this is ALL Kaylee wanted to do...get a wand. Well, it was raining and the line for the wand shop had an almost three hour late. However, her daddy saved the day and talked the wizard at the door into letting us skip to the front of the line. Now, I thought this was just a gift shop where I could but Kaylee a wand. Nope!! This was an actual attraction where only about 10 people at a time could go in. The wizard came down a staircase and came straight to Kaylee. This was a mommy moment full of smiles and tears. My sweet girl got what she wanted. Out of all of the people in the room, she was chosen to participate in the show. The wizard handed Kaylee three different wands to try out, telling her what each was made from and teaching her spells. On the third try, a wand chose her. The pure joy on her face was something that I will never, ever forget. My sweet girl. I finally was able to give her a true smile.

Next stop, although I don't believe in fortune telling, the rain persisted so Kaylee found her way into a fortune teller's tent.  The lady was very nice and explained to Kaylee that she could not see the future, and that she believed in God with all of her heart and she believed in angels and miracles.  She did a "fake" read on Kaylee, but winked at me.  The cards that she drew, however, stopped me in my tracks.  The lady told Kaylee that she was going to be a vet (for those of you that know Kaylee, you know that is exactly what she wants to be). She told her that she was surrounded by angels, and that she needed to focus on being a child, and not feel like it was her responsibility to worry about Lexi.  The lady then did a read on Lexi. Lexi's cards were heartstopping.  She drew Divine Timing, Guardian Angel, Power and (drum roll)...Miracle.  It was fun little stop for everyone.

The next stop was the Fury of Poseidon. It was an indoor story telling, get out of the rain thrill. Although it was a bit strange, it was fun.

Up next, Jurassic Park! I was a little disappointed by this...there was not really a lot to do in this part of the park. There were two rides and I was extremely upset at the park workers who tried to tell us that both were appropriate for Lexi. One was suspended high in the air; the other had strobe lights with no warning. So we hurried out of that part of the park.

Comic book land was super fun. It was full of cartoon bubbles that you could stand under.... I think that Ryan had a lot of fun in this part of the park! There was a log ride that was called Ripsaw Falls....that was THE best water ride I have EVER been on. Kaylee went with me twice! We got soaked.

The last part of the park was at Superhero Island. There, we rode the Hulk. EXTREME! We wanted to do it again, but someone puked so they shut it down. lol It was very, very cool!

After the Superhero Island, we decided to head back to the room to swim for a while.  We ended up being too tired to go back to the other half of the park, but we did SO much in just the Island of Adventures....it was probably one of mine and daddy's favorite times in Florida.

Stay tuned for day four....Animal Kingdom. xoxo Mom
